The blueberry fields are where the story of Hadden Estate truly began. Just minutes from Athens, Georgia, yet feeling worlds away, this Southern estate was planted in 2017 when John and Jennifer Hadden set 2,600 blueberry bushes sourced from South Georgia. What began as a labor of love, rooted in patience, hospitality, and community, has grown into one of the most defining features of the estate.
Each summer, the blueberry farm comes alive, drawing the community together and washing the landscape in the soft blue hues we’ve come to love. These fields have become the backdrop for first looks, intimate ceremonies, and timeless newlywed portraits - making Hadden Estate feel like a true destination. Our blueberry vinyard is the heart and soul of the property, inspiring meaningful moments and thoughtful blueberry details woven throughout a wedding day.

Our team will point you toward the best berry rows (pro tip: the gray-blue berries are the ripest and sweetest). Gently roll them off the stem, then head back to the Market to weigh, pay, and snag some DGD merch and shop from local businesses before you go.

Blueberry Season

Our Blueberry farm is usually open the month of June. Depending on the climate and spring weather, we typically open up U-Pick the last week of May, and season ends when the bees start getting fussy! Make sure to check out our Instagram and website for updates as we get closer.
When is blueberry season?
We are not a certified organic farm, however; we do not spray our blueberry fields. We have some of the best of the best fresh berries!!
Are you an organic farm?
U-Pick is open on wedding days until 12pm. Our Blueberry fields are completely separated from the rest of the wedding venue, so there isn't any overlap!
Is U-Pick open on a wedding day?
While we love your furry friends (go dawgs), we don't allow animals in our blueberry field.
